Camping, toilets, etc

Car camping and caravan camping is permitted at the Mont - so the joy of not having to lug your gear for miles to the campsite will continue in 2010. Camping will be in the large field between the highway and the forest. About halfway up the dirt road to the forest a side track will take you through the fence and into the field. This one-way track will help you to where you want to setup camp. You can setup your campsite and move your car to an alternate parking area if you wish. THERE IS NO CAMPING IN THE PINES OR UNDER BIG TREES. Smart folks don't camp in the low lying areas in front of dams... they can get moist pretty quick, and who knows it may rain one day. NOTE: Some camping may be permitted near the Creek Run area (the last section of ST before transition). This site is subject to confirmation with the Event Coordinator before you go in. If you wish to camp here you will need to carry your gear in, as no access for cars.

When you are in the camping area, you will see that it is a large area. Select a campsite as you are driving along the access road and get off the road about 4-5 metres and park so you do not hold up traffic. Your car will be in this spot for the duration. If you have plans to leave during the race, use the parking area further along the access road toward the exit and leave your vehicle there after dropping off your gear.

TOILETS Two semi trailer toilet blocks will be located just off the main dirt road into the venue, not far from the Transition/Rego area (see map). An additional toilet block will possibly be located in the general camping area.

Below is a basic outline of the venue. Entry is via the main entrance to Sparrow with all traffic will leaving through another exit further along the highway toward Queanbeyan (follow the signs). NOTE: In the interests of safety, we will run incoming traffic from Queanbeyan over the hill to the JOC intersection further along the highway and then come back into the venue. Go HERE for info.
