Cannes, Flickerfest, Sundance, Whistler - all famous film festivals, and not one of them held in a forest. We'll fix that oversight in 2010 as we host the inaugural MTB Film Festival in and amongst the action of the Mont 24 Hour MTB Race 2010. You are invited to submit an entry.

Naturally the theme is 'Mountain Biking' in all its guises - Enduro, Trials, XC Trails, Pump Track, Downhill, Freeride, Touring, Training, Advocacy, 24hr riding or simply out having fun on the trail with your mates. Sure, we'll open the door a little wider so you can submit films about your other bike-love-interests like roadies, fixies, dragsters and trikes so you won't feel left out. Please, no movies documenting how you tried to jump your house with your treadley and didn't quite make it. That's been done.

Hop to it! Grab your buddies, grab a camera and start making that compelling mini-epic. With a great range of prizes and exposure of your film-making efforts to an audience of 5000 or so bike mad people, this is a wonderful opportunity.

The rules are simple:

  • Your film must be bike related
  • Music and other media must not be the copyright of another person (this includes your soundtrack) unless you have written permission to use it (ie: a copyright clearance)
  • Entries are to be submitted in AVI Quicktime in HD DVD format, and capable of being projected onto a wide screen
  • The film must be your original work (i.e. not purloined from the net)
  • Maximum time limit is 15 minutes of film, including credits
  • 10 secs of blank film at the start and end of the footage is required
  • The rating of the film must be Mature (M) or less. For further clarification please visit www.oflc.gov.au (Note: films do not have to be officially classified)
  • The judges' decision is final and the top ten movies will be screened at the MONT 24hr 2010.
