Judging by the number of pleading emails filling our inbox it is clear that the closing of entries after one week has caught many people out. Desperate to enter say some, devastated to miss out say others. Offers of graft and bribery, butt kissing and even sworn promises from hard core roadies to move over to mtb for good... if they could just get in to Ride the Bird. 

The team stand-by list is long, and getting longer. But all is not lost. We've decided to run a little comp and award one or two Golden Tickets into the Mont. A Golden Ticket is still a paid entry, but is awarded to the team (or teams) who's professional writing skills surpass all others in a bid to weave a compelling, humorous and entertaining piece about why they should Ride the Bird, why they didn't get their entry in, and what they may do to get one.

If you missed out, grab a pen and paper, keyboard and screen or if you are really young, well I guess you guys can TXT. Whatever tools you use, make it a great read and email it to us HERE. We'll read them all, and the story that has us in tears, stitches or the hairs on our neck standing up will get the gig. We may even publish the story to the world so here's your advance warning.
